You might think ADHD is something that only hurts, slows you down, or makes you unfocused but, Adhd can be used to your advantage. Lots of people with ADHD can’t focus or can’t calm down. Adhd can help you be more creative though and channel energy into somethings you love. In this article I will show you how to transfer your ADHD energy into one task and get that task done.
ADHD gives a major bonus to creativity. Inattention is a major effect of ADHD. Having this inattention when you are bored of something you don’t like allows your mind to drift so you can think of other more creative ideas. This then allows you to have an exceptionally creative mind. Your thoughts drift especially if you have ADHD because your brain naturally has lower levels of dopamine and norepinephrine. These are two hormones that are responsible for focus and a general interest. The lack of these makes it harder to pay attention but if necessary most people with ADHD can power through with strong will power and hyperfocus.
“Many scientists, writers, and artists with ADHD have had very successful careers, in large part because of their ability to focus on what they’re doing for hours on end.” -Kathleen Nadeau, Ph. D
Adhd also allows you to do something I call hyper focus. If you are doing something you really like you can put your whole mind and all your effort into it and hyperfocus. I use this sometimes when I am doing something I love, or if I am doing something for school I want to get done ASAP. Hyperfocusing doesn’t just work though, you have to be in the mood in a quiet zone with tea or a calming drink or smell with something you enjoy. Hyoerfocus works because Of the amount of hormones in your brain. Your hormones that come in your brain when you’re at rest and when you’re focused are in your brain at the same time. This allows you to be inattentive on mundane tasks you don’t really want to do and be hyper focused on tasks you love to do to the point where you are oblivious to everything around you.
Helping ADHD is hard but you can turn it into your superpower. In the article above I showed you how to make ADHD your superpower and help you help yourself. You might feel just because you have ADHD you are worse at something or not as good as someone else but ADHD can help you in your own unique ways. I hope this article helped you and you can use it to your advantage.
